Laureates of Jerzy Giedroyć 2025 award: Serhij Żadan and Professor Krzysztof Pomian
The Palace of the Commonwealth hosted the gala of a jubilee, 15th edition of Jerzy Giedroyć award. The ceremony was attended by Marta Cienkowska, the minister of culture and national heritage; Wojciech Kolarski, minister at the Polish Republic President’s Chancellery; ex-prime minister Jan Krzysztof Bielecki; Grzegorz Schetyna, the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Polish Republic senate; Øystein Bø, the ambassador of Norway; Wasyl Bodnar, the ambassador of Ukraine; Miguel Berger, the ambassador of Germany and Tomasz Makowski, director general of the National Library.
The 2025 award went to Serhij Żadan, while Professor Krzysztof Pomian was honoured with a special jubilee distinction.
The Jerzy Giedroyć award honours creators and intellectualists who through their work foster dialogue among the Central-Eastern Europe nations, strengthen reflection on history and collective memory, and develop culture as a foundation of community.
